The club’s academy staff, including coaches and the multi-disciplinary team recently took part in equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) training, led by Charlton Athletic Football Club and Community Trust Head of EDI, Dr Michael Seeraj.
Michael delivered the highly-regarded CAFC EDI training workshop at Sparrows Lane last week to all those involved in Charlton’s national- renowned Academy.
Academy Director, Steve Avory, said: “I have attended a number of Michael’s EDI Training sessions in the past few years and each time I am impressed. It’s an excellent delivery packed with knowledge. It can be hard hitting, but it needs to be.
“The training is interactive and have an element of fun at times around what is a very serious subject matter which we all at the Academy value highly as integral to our culture.
“All of the academy staff enjoyed the training and found the session invaluable and thought provoking.”
Members of the club’s board, including the club’s lead on EDI, Paul Elliott CBE MBE, previously took part in a workshop in October as part of the club's ongoing commitment to integrating and embedding EDI across all areas.
Speaking then, Elliot said: “There is such a strong emphasis on equality, diversity and inclusion. I have always believed that should be the golden thread that runs through all areas of the club from the community all the way throughout the whole club’s DNA.”
This event is part of our All Together, All Different, All Charlton project, supported by the Premier League Charitable Fund #PLFund.
