Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s (CACT) annual Upbeats Walk fundraising event returns on Saturday April 20th ahead of Charlton Athletic’s final home game of the season against Shrewsbury Town.
CACT are delighted to announce that this year’s walk is sponsored by We Are Brandnew.
A group of Charlton fans and CACT supporters will be walking a nine-mile route from Charlton Athletic’s Training Ground in New Eltham to The Valley, all in aid of the Charlton Upbeats programme, and you can join them!
The Charlton Upbeats offers children and adults with Down’s syndrome the opportunity to play football in a safe and welcoming environment and has been running for 15 years now. The Upbeats have regular training sessions and take part in tournaments and competitions across the United Kingdom throughout the year.
The programme is entirely funded by voluntary donations and your support is crucial in helping CACT to continue the programme in the future.
Following last year’s record-breaking total, this year’s fundraising target is £35,000. If you aren’t able to join us in-person for the walk, the virtual walk will be running again where you can take part in the walk from wherever you are in the world.
Entry is free for all participants, but we do ask all supporters to try to fundraise a minimum of £100 if doing the walk in-person, or £10 if completing the walk virtually.
