Charlton's U18s returned to winning ways with a 3-1 triumph over Fleetwood Town on Saturday.

Samuel Washington-Amoah, Bradley Tagoe and Emmanuel Sol-Loza were all on the scoresheet for Jason Pearce's side at Sparrows Lane.

It was the Cod Army who took the lead though, as Lucas Taylor scored inside five minutes. The visitors countered with pace and the ball was slipped out to wideman Harvey Currie, who drove to the byline and squared across the face of goal for Taylor to tap home.

The young Addicks responded well to the setback and were back level on 24 minutes. Washington-Amoah plucked the ball from the sky on the edge of the centre circle and drove towards Fleetwood's 18-yard box, leaving two defenders for dead before curling into the bottom corner.

Just moments later, Charlton added a second. Tagoe was threaded through on goal and he cut inside on to his right foot, before firing past the visitors' stopper.

Charlton rounded off the scoring five minutes after the half-time interval as Sol-Loza netted a third. A neat passage of play from the young Addicks saw Reuben Reid freed in behind the Fleetwood defence and the winger played a pass across goal, allowing Sol-Loza to rifle in from close range to extend the lead.

The U18s return to action on Saturday when they host Colchester United at Sparrows Lane (KO 11am).
