Charlton's U21s continued their perfect start to the 2024/25 campaign with an impressive 4-0 victory against Burnley on Sunday afternoon.

Chris Lock's side produced a dominant second-half performance in Lancashire, netting three goals in 15 minutes following the interval to record a fourth win on the spin.

The young Addicks opened their account in the 23rd minute through Trialist B. Harvey Kedwell swung a cross towards the edge of the box, allowing Trialist B to let fly and his effort deflected in to open the scoring.

Shortly after the break, Micah Mbick extended the young Addicks’ lead. Superb work from Alan Mwamba saw the midfielder beat his man down the right flank and he squared for Mbick, whose strike clipped the post on the way in.

Lock’s team added a third in the 55th minute as Toby Bower netted from the penalty spot. Kai Enslin danced his way past several Burnley defenders, before eventually being brought down. Bower stepped up from 12 yards, rifling his strike past Lewis Forshaw.

Just moments later, Charlton netted their fourth, this time through Enslin as he headed home to round off the scoring in Lancashire, taking the young Addicks’ tally to 18 goals so far this season.

Sunday’s win sees Lock’s side remain at the top of the table having secured four wins from a possible four to start their 2024/25 season in flawless fashion.

The young Addicks are back in action on Tuesday, September 10th as they welcome Crewe Alexandra to Princes Park in the PDL2.
