Over 300 children and young people from the Royal Borough of Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley participated in a range of activities over half-term as part of the One Goal programme Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) delivers on behalf of housing association L&Q.
Sessions included boxing, multisports, arts and crafts, Zumba, street dance, reptile experiences, wall climbing and a bike safety workshop. They are open to boys and girls aged 5-21.
L&Q One Goal is the largest free holiday programme in the UK, delivered in partnership with nine London football clubs’ community trusts: CACT, the Chelsea FC Foundation, Fulham Foundation, Leyton Orient Trust, Millwall Community Trust, Palace for Life Foundation, QPR in the Community Trust, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and West Ham Foundation.
In total, One Goal engaged with more than 1000 young people across the capital this month.
The programme, which is in its third year, returns during the Easter holidays, with CACT running sessions in Royal Greenwich and Bexley between Tuesday 3 April and Friday 13 April.
Bradley Marshall, CACT’s L&Q Officer, said:
“It was great to welcome so many children and young people to L&Q One Goal sessions last week.
“With sessions being free, One Goal is a brilliant opportunity for 5 to 18-year-olds from all over London to take part in a wide range of activities. We’re looking forward to the next batch of sessions over Easter.”
