Charlton 3 Göztepe 1
Nathan Jones has been working his squad very hard this week in Slovenia and will have been pleased to see them make it two wins from two in pre-season with a comfortable victory over Turkish top tier side Göztepe.
The Addicks started brightly and took an 11th minute lead through Tyreece Campbell. The academy graduate won possession high up the pitch, drove forward and slotted the ball home with style for his third goal of the pre-season.
Five minutes later and Charlton doubled their lead again dispossessing the opposition in their own half. This time it was Karoy Anderson who won the ball and the Jamaican international played in Daniel Kanu, breaking in from the right, who netted confidently.
The Addicks were forced into a change on the half-hour mark with Trialist Teddy Bishop having to come off following a nasty-looking collision with a Göztepe player. Chuks Aneke took his place.
As in last weekend’s 6-1 victory over Dartford, Nathan Jones changed his whole side at half-time.
Göztepe pulled a goal back in the 61st minute when Nazım Sangaré got a powerful header on a deep cross from the right.
The Addicks restored their two-goal advantage four minutes later with Alex Mitchell rose highest to power home from a well-whipped Conor Coventry corner.
Jones' side fly back to the UK on Sunday before a week which ends with a trip to Crystal Palace on Friday afternoon, live on CharltonTV.
