Luke Berry spoke to CharltonTV following the Addicks’ dramatic 2-2 draw at Barnsley on Tuesday night.
The experienced midfielder made a game-changing impact from the bench, bagging a late brace to fire Charlton ahead in additional time before the hosts’ late leveller at Oakwell.
“To concede late on - when we thought we had the win - is gutting, but a point away from home is not the worst result," he said."
“I always like to pick up goals. That's my fourth of the season and I need to keep ticking them off. I like sniffing off TC [Tyreece Campbell], Miles [Leaburn] and Godders [Matty Godden], finding it where it dropped and thankfully two of them did.
“I always want to be starting,” he added. “Hopefully it will give the Manager something to think about. The main thing is trying to help the team get results. It’s another game where we haven’t lost and we’ve picked up a point, we need to keep going.”
When discussing his targets for the rest of the season, he said: “I normally aim for double figures. If I can get 10, I'm greedy, so I’ll go for 15! It’ll end up being constant.”
Over 21,000 fans will be backing the Addicks as they return to The Valley on Saturday to host Wrexham and Berry praised the superb support both home and away.
“It was great from the fans to come here on a Tuesday night. Brilliant support, it’s not an easy journey. Especially with the M25 on Monday, it was a nightmare wasn’t it so we really appreciate it from them.
“I’m really looking forward to Saturday. I think I saw over 21,000 tickets have been sold so far so it will be brilliant. Everyone will get behind us and hopefully we can put on a show for them.”
