Charlton’s SSE Women’s FA Cup second-round tie against Portsmouth Ladies on Sunday, January 8th is fast approaching and tickets are now on sale.
Seats are priced at £5 adults and £2 for concessions and Charlton season ticket holders. U12s are free when accompanied by an adult and all gate receipts will go to the Charlton Athletic’s women’s team.
They have played Portsmouth twice at home this season already, running out 4-2 winners both times.
It’s a big day for Charlton Athletic Women's and Girls' Football Club, which operates under the umbrella of the Charlton Athletic Community Trust.
The Womens and Girls' programme includes a girls' development centre and we now run U10, U12, U13, U15 and U16 teams. There is a development team made up predominantly of U18's that plays at senior level.
The programme offers coaching and playing opportunities to some 150 women and girls each week.
Women’s captain Kim Dixson works for Charlton Athletic Community Trust as London Social Inclusion Co-Ordinator.
Speaking before the game she said: "Every time we play at The Valley it is special, for me especially being a Charlton fan. The first competitive game we had there against Cardiff in the League Cup stands out for me as a moment I will never forget."
On the match and the FA Cup itself, Dixson pointed out the importance of a good performance and another win against the south coast side, with FA Women's Super League 2 teams due in the hat for the third round.
She added: "The FA Cup is always good to go far in and test ourselves against a Super League team if we can, because that's where we want to be."
Tickets for the match are available to purchase in person, by calling 03330 14 44 44 or online at the club’s tickets website by clicking here
