Tyreece Campbell wants to kick on after opening his goalscoring account for the season in midweek.
The promising forward got off the mark with a well-taken goal in midweek and is now relishing the opportunity to get back out there to add to his tally.
“I saw Hylts [Danny Hylton] going up for the ball so I stayed away, he had a nice touch and played it into me. I took my man on one-v-one, going down the outside and saw he would lunge in, so I chopped the ball inside and reversed it in at the near post.
“It feels good, it’s been a long time coming, and hopefully I can kick on from here and get some more goals.
"My personal goal is that I want to score more goals. As a team, we want to get higher up the table and get promotion.”
The 21-year-old has carried out a new role as a centre forward in Nathan Jones' side this season.
“I’ve liked it a lot,” the academy graduate explained. “It's different to playing out wide. I feel that playing centrally I'm a lot closer to the goal. It gives me a chance to get more goals and hopefully create more chances for other people.
“The gaffer's always really helpful - he’s always giving me tips. It’s my first time playing as a striker so he's always helping me and telling me what I can do better. He tells me what I'm doing well which is nice as well.”
Looking ahead to Saturday's Emirates FA Cup first-round tie at Southend United, Campbell said: “They will be quite direct - the ball will be in the air a lot. Hopefully we can impose our style on the game and get the win.”
