Celebrating ‘Valley of Dreams’

'

On Wednesday, the club held its final open ‘Valley of Dreams’ event at Charlton's training ground in New Eltham.

Attended by over 50 representatives from Charlton's ‘Valley of Dreams’ members and valued business partners as well as attendees from companies and organisations keen to to learn more about the groundbreaking initiative launched earlier this year at the House of Commons.

Hosted by Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) ambassador Steve Sutherland, guests were formally welcomed by Paul Elliott CBE MBE, the club's Vice Chairman and Equality Diversity and Inclusion Lead. They then listened to in-depth interviews highlighting the incredible work of the club and CACT in the three main pillars of the ‘Valley of Dreams’ initiative. The interviews featured Jemma White, Head of Women’s Football for Charlton Athletic; Steve Avory, former Charlton Athletic Academy Director and Jason Morgan MBE, Chief Executive of CACT. The event concluded with a closing address by CEO, Charlie Methven

Guests were then invited to watch a CACT girls’ football coaching session before finishing the evening networking with a glass of wine and delicious canapes.

The ‘Valley of Dreams’ concept showcases the importance of Charlton Athletic’s work in providing opportunities for young people by uniting the community trust, academy, and women’s football to deliver societal transformation in South-East London and Kent. Specifically, it offers businesses the chance to align with EDI, ESG, and sustainability values whilst enhancing brand awareness.

Starting at £1,000, members enjoy a solid return on investment with six annual networking events, meaningful connections, a welcoming community…..and complimentary food and beverages!

The best part? You don’t have to be a Charlton Athletic supporter to make a difference. Supporting ‘Valley of Dreams’ means supporting the community and our shared values.
