Charlton Athletic Girls Academy have been excelling this season across their five teams, ranging from Under 12s to Under 16s.
On Sunday, March 16th, four of the Academy's teams will compete in the London FA Girls Cup Finals at Barking FC. Here's a look at their impressive journeys to the finals:
Under 12s
The U12s compete in the Tandridge Boys League, playing a year down, and are one of the top eight teams in their age group. They are also preparing for a semi-final in the Spring Silver Cup. Their road to the London Cup final saw them knock out QPR, London City Lionesses, and Millwall. They will face Sittingbourne in the final.
Under 13s
Also competing a year down in the Tandridge Boys League, the U13s are challenging for the Division 2 title. They've reached the Tandridge Shield Final, having beaten top-division leaders Ten Em Bee on penalties after an exciting 4-4 semi-final draw. Their London Cup journey saw them overcome AFC Wimbledon, Haringey, and Broomwood. They will also face Sittingbourne in the final.
Under 14s
Coached by former Charlton captain Simon Webster, the U14s play a year up in the Junior Premier League U15 National South Division, where they currently sit 3rd. Their path to the London Cup Final saw them defeat Barking, AFC Wimbledon, and Caribb. They will take on Haringey in the final.
Under 15s
The U15s play a year up in the Junior Premier League U16 National South Division and are currently 4th with games in hand. They still have a crucial match against league leaders Bournemouth to play. The U15s have also reached the Junior Premier League Cup U16 semi-final, where they will again face Bournemouth next week.
Under 16s
Playing a year up in the Junior Premier League U17/18 Division, the U16s are battling for top spot alongside Millwall U18s. Their London Cup journey included victories over Welling United, Hackney Wick, London City Lionesses, and last year's finalists Teddington United. They will face AFC Wimbledon in the final.
Best of luck to all Charlton Athletic Girls Academy teams as they look to bring home silverware!
