Charlton Athletic is delighted to announce the signing of Emma Bissell, who joins the club on an 18-month deal.
Bissell arrives from WSL side Everton, bringing a wealth of experience from the top league to strengthen the squad as we enter the crucial stage of the season.
The midfielder joined Everton in 2023, making 23 appearances for the Toffees. A graduate of the Manchester City Academy, Bissell also spent two years in the United States playing for Florida State Seminoles. In the 2020-21 season, she featured for Bristol City when they competed in the WSL.
Expressing her excitement about the move, Bissell said: “When you look at Charlton as a team and its history, it’s a really big club. After speaking with Karen and hearing her vision and philosophy, I knew it was something I wanted to be part of. You can see how well the girls performed last season and the progress they’re making now. I’m excited to help build and create good memories here.”
Head coach Karen Hills shared her thoughts on the new signing: “It’s great to have Emma with us. She will be a fantastic addition to the squad as we approach the second half of the season. Emma is a creative player who I believe will fit in seamlessly, and I look forward to seeing her progress at Charlton.”
Welcome to Charlton, Emma!
