Four of our Addicks recently took to the international stage, representing their countries over the break. Here’s a look at how each player fared over the past week.
Kayleigh Barton joined the Welsh national team for their UEFA WEURO 2025 Play-off Semi Final clash against Slovakia. In the first leg, which took place away from home, Barton played a full 90 minutes in what ended as a closely contested 2-1 loss for Wales. In the return leg, Barton came on in the 84th minute and made an immediate impact to the game. In extra time, her shot hit the post, deflecting to Holland, who then found the back of the net. Initially, the goal was ruled offside, but after a VAR review, the decision was overturned, awarding Wales the goal that secured their place in the Play Off Finals.
Atlanta Primus was called up by the Jamaican national team for their friendly against France. She played 80 minutes though Jamaica ultimately fell to a 3-0 defeat.
Princess Ademiluyi, meanwhile, earned her first international cap for England U19s at the Algarve Cup, starting as the team’s number nine. Ademiluyi made a memorable debut, setting up two goals to help England claim a 3-1 win over the Netherlands. She continued her impressive form in the team’s next match, as England celebrated back-to-back victories with a 2-0 win against Norway.
Sophie Whitehouse joined Ireland in what proved to be a triumphant international break, as the team advanced to the Play Off Finals with a dominant 9-0 aggregate victory over Georgia. Whitehouse was an unused sub at this window.
