Club announce partnership with Chicken George

Charlton Athletic are pleased to announce that Chicken George will become the proud sponsor of the club's Goal of the Month competition for the 2024/25 season.

The exciting partnership will bring Chicken George’s renowned fried chicken to Addicks fans, as they set up a residency in the club's Fan Zone on men’s first-team matchdays.

Barry Higson, Head of Commercial at Charlton Athletic, expressed his delight at the new collaboration: "I am incredibly pleased to welcome Chris and the Chicken George team to the Charlton family. Having worked with Chris before, I know firsthand the exceptional quality of their food and the passion they bring to their business. I am confident that our fans will love having Chicken George as part of our new fan park, and this partnership will be a massive hit."

Chicken George owner Chris Cheah shared his excitement about the partnership: "I am delighted to be working with a club like Charlton Athletic, which has such an amazing, dedicated and passionate fanbase. I look forward to winning over fellow supporters with our food. With some exciting signings already made, I am sure that both Chicken George and Charlton Athletic are going to have a hugely successful season together."

About Chicken George: George Cheah, also known as "Boss," started frying chicken in the early 1970s in London. After moving to Luton in 1978, he introduced his own American style of fried chicken, and in 1985, Chicken George was born. Under the leadership of his son Chris since 2015, the business has gained national recognition. Chris, a highly-skilled chef with experience in some of the UK's best restaurants, has continued his father's legacy by winning numerous awards - including Best Takeaway in Britain in 2016. Teaming up with The Ribman of London, Chris and his team have dominated the chicken wing scene at major events like Wing Fest and Wing Jam.

Chicken George are now looking to hire staff for matchdays at Charlton Athletic. If you are interested in joining the team, please contact Ollie Bertho at ollie@chicken-george.co.uk for more information.
