Coaching traineeships taking applications

Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) is looking for applicants interested in football coaching traineeships in Sevenoaks.

The 12-week placements, which begin on Monday 13 November, are aimed at 16 to 18-year-olds not in education, employment or training, and also place an emphasis on employability skills and work experience.

Participants have the opportunity to work with qualified CACT coaches delivering sessions locally and gain the FA Level 1 in Coaching Football qualification.

The traineeships are the first CACT has run in Sevenoaks.

The programme runs from Monday to Friday, with the educational element towards the start of the day and work experience taking place in the afternoon and evening.

As well as employability skills and CV-writing, it incorporates maths, English, equality and diversity, health and safety and sport-specific topics.

Sean Daly, CACT’s Head of Football & Sports Development, said:

“These coaching traineeships are an important part of our Kent football development programme. As well as football experience, those on the scheme will gain various employability skills to help their careers.

“We hope as many young people as possible will make the most of this opportunity”.
