CUP PREVIEW | Bournemouth vs Charlton
Karen Hills’ side will return to action for the first time in over two and a half weeks as they travel to Bournemouth in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Third Round this Sunday at the Vitality Stadium (KO 1pm GMT).
In their previous outing, the Addicks tasted triumph in the Continental Cup against Birmingham City at The Oakwood, courtesy of a Tegan McGowan strike in the 35th minute.
Charlton made it to the fifth round of last year's competition narrowly losing 1-0 to fellow Championship outfit Birmingham back in February.
Steve Cuss has led the Cherries to an unbeaten start in the Women’s National League Division One so far this season, picking up nine wins from nine outings.
Sunday will mark Bournemouth’s inaugural Adobe FA Cup Third Round appearance after they secured qualification with a 2-1 win over Swindon Town at the end of November. Chloe Gilroy netted the all-important winner in the dying embers of the tie as the Cherries made history in Wiltshire.
Bournemouth were set to host Exeter City in league action last weekend however, their clash was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
The Addicks will be sporting their third kit this Sunday.
Sunday's meeting against the Cherries will be the Addicks' first.
