It is with regret that we write to inform you we have taken the difficult decision to cancel the CACT Football Holiday courses scheduled for 21st, 22nd and 23rd December, at both the CACT Training Ground and The New Beacon School. With the continued rise in coronavirus infection rates, especially within Greenwich and Kent, we feel it would be difficult to deliver to the high standards and follow our Covid-19 risk assessments as done during CACT’s Summer and October half-term courses.
The guidance in Tier 3 doesn’t allow for groups taking part in sport and recreation to use indoor space i.e changing rooms, sports halls or classrooms. This poses a problem when it comes to arranging lunches and wet weather space, which in England during December we would have certainly needed. Having very limited indoor space therefore means we can’t successfully sign off our risk assessments, something we and all other providers of such activities must comply with. We understand that this will potentially cause you a problem in re-arranging activities for your children and we apologise for this. Please be reassured that we have not taken this decision lightly and have considered all options, however, we do not want to put your children and families at risk with Christmas upon us.
We are planning on re-launching many of our fantastic programmes in the New Year, including football holiday courses, schools delivery and the Charlton Challenge. In doing so we will continue to follow government guidelines and ensure the safety of all children who part take in our activities is at the centre of our delivery.
You can expect a full refund to you over the next few days so you will have the funds available for Christmas.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, we hope to see you very soon.
