Bookings can now be made for Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s (CACT’s) holiday football courses during the Easter holidays.
The courses, which begin on Monday 30 March in some venues, and Monday 6 April in others, are for boys and girls aged 5-15.
Courses run across South East London and Kent, including at venues in Royal Greenwich, Bexley, Maidstone and a new course in Ashford.
Participants during the February half-term were pleasantly surprised when Charlton Athletic midfielder Jonny Williams visited a course.
The midfielder did a Q&A about his journey into football, signed autographs and posed for photos with the participants.
Bradley Marshall, CACT’s SE London Football & Sports Development Officer, said:
“To have the opportunity to have a player like Jonny Williams support our football courses is fantastic. The participants were over the moon and couldn’t wait to ask questions, take photographs and get shirts signed.
“He also signed all the children’s certificates. We’re already looking forward to Easter holidays where hopefully we will have the support of Charlton first-team players once again.”
Jonny Williams said:
“It’s important that players support community initiatives where they can, whether promoting campaigns or meeting participants. We’ve got the platform as footballers to raise awareness about important causes and also bring smiles to people’s faces.”
