"Every single player stepped up." Hills on Birmingham victory

Karen Hills

Head Coach Karen Hills reflected on her side's impressive 3-0 victory over Birmingham City at The Valley this afternoon.

"I am obviously really pleased to play at The Valley, in front of a good crowd, and to get three points and to get a clean sheet against a very good side who have started the season well, I could not be more proud of the girls."

On Ella Rutherford's goal and impact:

"I thought it was outstanding, I thought she was outstanding today, it was a team performance out there today every single player stepped up and worked so hard for each other. I thought we got the shape right today, and that we thoroughly deserved the three points."

Angela Addison getting her first Charlton goal:

"Angela loves to score goals, you see she is an exciting player, and she is a threat in the final third, and as a defender, you do not want to play against players like that."

Karen Hills quote

Hills on Hannah Godfrey and Emma Follis:

"We were disappointed to have lost two players of that calibre in the first half in the way we did. We will know a little bit more further down the line, but the team has rallied around them. Credit to the subs who were game changers when they came on, I thought they really focused straight away picked up the baton and carried on."

The Addicks will return to The Valley on Sunday, October 16th to take on Blackburn Rovers click here for tickets
