Fantasy EFL, the EFL’s first ever 72-club fantasy football product, is now live. Featuring almost 2,000 players from across all three EFL divisions, the game will see managers compete to win prizes such as season tickets, or just to have the bragging rights over their friends.
The game, which comes from the EFL in partnership with Genius Sports, works similarly to other fantasy football games like Fantasy Premier League, but with a few unique twists.
Players will select seven players from across all three divisions, as well as two clubs who they think will win that gameweek.
Gameweeks run from Thursday to Wednesday, and managers can pick a new squad every week, with unlimited transfers. They can also swap out any player right up until the moment their match kicks off.
A captain and vice-captain are selected every gameweek, and much like Fantasy Premier League, your captain earns double points unless he doesn’t play, in which case your vice-captain earns double instead.
A ‘Max Captain’ chip is available twice a season, and will double the points of your highest scoring player that gameweek.
Point scoring operates in the same way as Fantasy Premier League, but with extra points for clubs that managers select to win each gameweek. You are only able to select a certain club up to five times a season.
Managers will be able to create private leagues with friends, and play in public leagues including club leagues for all 72 EFL clubs.
On offer for the winners of those club leagues are season tickets for that club, and other prizes include Fantasy EFL merchandise and other prizes from EFL partners.
Fantasy EFL is free-to-play and available on web, or as a brand-new app for iOS and Android users.
