Ben Garner has provided an update on the availability of his squad ahead of this weekend's trip to Barnsley.
Ryan Inniss comes back into contention following a one-match suspension, while Garner confirmed summer signings Mandela Egbo and Steven Sessegnon are both available to face the Tykes.
"We've only got 18 outfield first-team players and when we've had four, five, six of those injured it becomes difficult," said the boss. "We went into the season with three first-team full-backs and unfortunately two of those got injured, so to have Mandela Egbo and Steven Sessegnon back is brilliant.
"They're both very talented players, they're good athletes and they're fantastic characters with really good professionalism. Having them back in the squad not only creates competition but it raises the standards and the intensity of training."
Garner revealed Chuks Aneke was back out on the grass at Sparrows Lane this week as the striker continues to progress with his recovery from a calf injury.
"Chuks has been out on the grass this week which has been great to see," he said. "He's been running, he got some good distances in the early part of this week with some of his sessions. It's nice to see that progression.
"He's the only one injured at the moment but we're trying to get him back as quickly as we can."
The gaffer confirmed Craig MacGillivray is set to earn his first start of the season on Saturday.
"Jojo is on international duty. He plays this evening and he plays again on Tuesday, so we wish him well for those games. It gives an opportunity for Craig [MacGillivray] to come in this week. He's been chomping at the bit to play so we look forward to seeing him come in and hopefully give a good performance."
Asked if Charlie Kirk, who has been left out of Garner's last two matchday squads, had reacted positively on the training pitches at Sparrows Lane, the gaffer said: "Very much so. I really like Charlie as a player and as a character. He's a great character around the place and he's got wonderful ability. I just want to see him maximise that and make sure that he's giving everything every day for himself and for the group.
"He's responded superbly and he will be in the squad travelling to Barnsley today," added Garner. "I want to see him chomping at the bit to try and get back into the team and try and prove what a talent he is."
