Head Coach Karen Hills provided her final thoughts ahead of the Addicks' upcoming derby against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon.
During her press conference, Hills offered her praise on her team's recent away win against Durham:
“That game really was an opportunity for us to try and get some points on the board. We knew it was always going to be a tough game."
“I thought they grounded out the result and did really well and thoroughly deserved the win.”
With the rest of the squad training at Sparrows Lane, Kiera Skeels, Angela Addison, and Mia Ross were all called up for the Under 23 England squad during the international break:
“I think Mia played both games [90 minutes], Kira obviously got herself on and so did Angela, so we are really pleased for them, and something they have been working hard to push for.”
“They have come back fully charged, fully focused and now they are ready to go, and we go again with a huge derby at the weekend.”
Hills also shared her thoughts ahead of this Sunday's big derby clash against Dean Davenport's Crystal Palace:
“Every game we go into, we want to go in with that winning mentality and try to win every single game. But Palace is always a good game for the neutrals and Charlton fans, but there is a rivalry, but at the same time, it’s just another game.”
“We know it is going to be a tough task but going to Selhurst Park is a perfect opportunity. We relish the opportunity to play in big stadiums, we thrive in big stadiums, so I think that’s not going to phase us.”
