Join the journey | Support Nathan Jones and his team

Charlton are calling for supporters to get behind Nathan Jones and his team by 'joining the journey' as the Addicks focus on getting promoted to the Sky Bet Championship.

More than 7,300 fans have already purchased a season ticket for the 2024/25 campaign while summer signings Will Mannion, Luke Berry, Josh Edwards, Alex Mitchell, Matty Godden, Gassan Ahadme and Greg Docherty have also signed up to be part of a new chapter in the club’s history.

The season ticket sales number is already well ahead of the 6,618 sold at this stage last season, and Charlton’s hierarchy are looking to get as many supporters behind Jones and his team as possible.

Charlie Methven, the club's Chief Executive, said: “It is good to see excitement and momentum building, both internally and amongst our fanbase. There has been no hiding from the fact that last year was a really bad season for supporters and everyone involved at the football club. Big changes needed to be made, which was something we knew from the moment we took over the club at the start of last season.

“After an extensive process of identifying strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement, a detailed plan was laid out internally, and from January onwards the action began on implementing the changes required.

“There has been investment on the pitch, with the appointment of both Nathan Jones and 12 permanent signings since mid-January. There has also been investment in an improved infrastructure around the men’s first-team, importantly including new training pitches, a new pitch at The Valley and the appointment of a raft of elite-level people in the backroom operation. This comes in addition to positive developments off the pitch, which include an improved matchday experience with our new Fan Zone, a refurbished club shop, the construction of a safe-standing area and a new 16-20 section."

Methven added: “We have been careful over our first 12 months not to make lofty promises or demands, understanding that we needed to do our bit first. However, for the first time we now feel in a place to ask supporters to join us on a journey that we truly believe is going to be a new dawn for Charlton. Only three years ago, the club sold over 9,000 season tickets, compared to 7,300 as of today, and over the next month, we will be working hard to persuade the missing 1,700 to re-commit to their club.

"Whilst we have ambitious medium and long-term plans, in the short term our clear objective is to be in the top three in League One in everything we do, from the performance of the men's first-team to commercial numbers and, of course, live attendances.

"With men's first-team squad spending increasingly limited to a set percentage of a club's revenues and with owner equity injection now being progressively limited, we can only achieve our objectives in partnership with Charlton's outstanding fanbase."
