On Saturday 20th May, in partnership with Peabody and The Mason Foundation, we are having a special one off walk around Thamesmead, to celebrate National Walking Month and all the wonderful benefits of walking.
Meet at Sporting Club Thamesmead, London, SE28 8NJ, at 10:30am. The nearest bus stop is Lister Walk, then follow Crossway to the corner of Bayliss Avenue where there will be a member of staff to help direct you to the Sporting Club.
We will then head out and spend a few hours exploring Thamesmead’s green spaces including Crossway Park and Southmere Park, where there is plenty of exciting wildlife, Southmere Lake, and other sites to discover.
After the walk we will return to the meeting point where there will be a marquee serving free teas, coffees and biscuits.
Please come prepared for the weather! A rain jacket, layers and appropriate footwear for walking would be ideal, but do check the forecast beforehand.
The approximate finish time is around 1pm, after a hot drink and the opportunity to learn more about activities in the local area you can get involved in
Earlier this year we hosted the Great Winter Walk around Charlton Park, which was really successful and enjoyed by all who came. With the weather brightening up and the flowers and leaves coming out, we are so excited for this event.
Come along, we can’t wait to meet you. No need to book, just turn up!
