Nathan Jones wants to see his side finish the 2023/24 season in style at Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.
Charlton travel to Adams Park looking to extend their unbeaten run to 15 matches, which would equal a club record.
“The players have trained well and I’ve reiterated what is expected this weekend," said Jones. "Wycombe’s a tough place to go - it always is. If you’re not at it, they usually punish you. It always used to be tough under Gareth [Ainsworth] and now under Matt [Bloomfield] it’s exactly the same. We’ve got to make sure that we’re right at it and I’ll demand that.
“We want to see progression and we don’t want to see the season peter out," he continued. "It wasn’t just about surviving, it was about how far we can go. We should be mid-table now from where we were in terms of the points, but we’re not. We’ve evaluated that and we know what we need to do moving forward. I want us to finish as strong as possible.”
The boss provided an update on Ashley Maynard-Brewer, who has missed the Addicks' last two outings.
“Ash picked up a jaw injury in training," Jones revealed. "He picks up injuries because he’s probably one of the bravest humans you’ll see. He picked up a collision injury and, being a goalkeeper, you can’t risk that.”
