Nathan Jones is hoping to return to winning ways this weekend when Charlton face Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium.
“We want to bounce back,” Jones said. “You don’t want to lose two on the spin as it can become a problem. We want to put it right immediately.
"It’s a very tough game at the weekend, a tough place to go. We have to make sure that we're the best version of ourselves - that's what we've concentrated on this week.”
The gaffer provided an update on his team's fitness ahead of this weekend's clash, admitting that his squad is getting closer to a full bill of health as the days go by.
“[Miles Leaburn] is a lot closer in comparison to where he was before. We have to manage his minutes well. It was a serious injury, albeit a muscular one, so he has to by psychologically ready, and we have to get enough football into him so he can tolerate the physicality of League One football."
“We’re almost at full strength in terms of our squad with Josh Edwards and Miles coming back soon as well. It’s good that we have got three games this week as we've had a good couple of free weeks apart from the one with the Cambridge game. It's nice that we'll be able to get some rhythm in this week, albeit they are tough games - two away games and one of the toughest fixtures you can get in this division. It's a big week coming up.”
The Addicks will lock horns with a Stevenage who currently sit 15th in the third tier.
“It’s a tough place to go, the ground is small and enclosed and it’s a really good football club. We're going to have to do all of the basics of the game very well and hopefully we have enough firepower to score one more than them.”
Over 1,000 Addicks fans are set to make the trip to the Lamex Stadium on Saturday.
“The supporters have been excellent," said the boss. "There was a spell the other day in the first-half where they showed their disappointment which was understandable. They've been excellent, especially on the road.
"The atmosphere will be good because of the ground’s close proximity. It'll be a wonderful atmosphere. We need to focus on the being the best that we can, so they have something to get behind.”
