Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce that Women's Head Coach Karen Hills has signed a new two-year contract.
Hills was appointed Head Coach in March 2021, as the Addicks geared up for their first season as a fully-professional outfit, and guided the side to a fifth-place finish in her first season at the helm.
Charlton progressed further in 2022/23, finishing fourth in the Barclays Women's Championship table and scoring 34 goals, with forward Melissa Johnson collecting the Golden Boot award.
Hills, who was an FA Cup winner as a player with the Addicks in 2005, expressed her delight after extending her stay with the club. She said: "I am delighted to continue my stay here at Charlton, obviously being a player here and now a Head Coach the club is very special to me and I am very proud of what we as a team have built over the last few seasons.
"I am happy with our recruitment this summer and I think we are heading into this new campaign with a strong group, every single player has worked hard over the summer and now we are all raring to go to take on Sheffield United."
Women's General Manager Louise McGing also expressed her delight by saying: "Karen’s track record is impressive, and both the club and our supporters are delighted that she has extended her contract.
"Karen has a clear vision going into the season. She has maintained a solid spine of experience within the squad, whilst also recruiting the right players to take the team to the next level.”
