Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce that Karen Hills has been awarded the September Manager of the Month award!

Hills, who has been Charlton's manager since March 2021, guided her team to four consecutive wins in the Barclays Women's Championship during September, with eight goals scored and only one conceded.

Reflecting on her achievement, Karen Hills said: “It’s been a fantastic month for Charlton Women, but managers don’t win these awards without the players’ hard work and belief in what we do day in, day out. Every player has given their all for each other week after week.

Of course, it’s always an honor to receive these awards, but I can honestly say I have the best staff to work alongside. They put in so much effort to ensure the team is ready to perform, and I am extremely proud to be part of this group.”

The Addicks began their campaign with a 3-0 win against newly promoted Portsmouth, followed by a hard-fought 1-0 away victory against Sheffield United. Back at home, they staged a memorable comeback to defeat Durham 2-1, and rounded off the month with a solid 2-0 win over Blackburn.

The award was decided by The Barclays Women's Championship Manager of the Month panel, which is comprised of of Faye White, Mo Marley MBE, Brent Hills, Jen O'Neill, Alan Curbishley, and Mollie Kmita.

Congratulations Karen!
