Miles Leaburn spoke to CharltonTV post-game as his brace halted Wycombe Wanderers in a 2-1 for the Addicks at The Valley on Sunday.
The promising forward was on hand to net two, including a superb chip in front of the Covered End, seeing the Addicks end the Chairboys’ 19-game unbeaten streak.
“I thought we were good,” said Miles. “We pressed well, especially in the second-half. We were happy to have kept a clean sheet in the first-half, all we could do was build on that. We got straight into it in the second-half, one goal turned into two.
“Like I said in the last interview, when I get one goal I just seem to get more.”
The 21-year-old talked us through his second strike whoch provided the Addicks’ the foundations to see out the game.
He explained: “I was just running in and saw him off his line, I see Bez [Luke Berry] do it all the time in training, so I thought I’d give it a go. I enjoyed it just as much as the fans, I saw them all screaming and thought I’d jump in.”
He also shared his gratitude to those in attendance, admitting that their constant support is vital in driving him to perform.
“It’s always nice to hear the fans chanting your name," he smiled. "Ever since I first came up into the first-team they have chanted my name. I have always loved it. I just want to keep scoring goals and give them things to chant about.”
Leaburn emphasised the importance of bouncing back from our previous outing against Crawley, who we face on New Years Day.
He said: “I think after the last game against Crawley we are determined to make sure this next performance is similar to our recent ones. We have got a lot of motivation behind us to go and get a win.”
