Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce that Lloyd Jones has signed a new contract with the club.

The defender, who joined the Addicks in June 2023, has put pen to paper on a deal that runs until the summer of 2027.

Jones has enjoyed a stellar season to date, helping the Addicks earn 11 league clean sheets and scoring twice. His standout performances have been recognised with nominations for August’s Sky Bet League One Player of the Month award and September’s PFA Sky Bet League One Fans’ Player of the Month, and he has also featured in numerous EFL and Sky Bet League One Team of the Weeks throughout the campaign.

After committing his future to Charlton, the 29-year-old said: "I’m buzzing to sign this contract and I’m looking forward to what the future holds. I’ve loved my time at Charlton so far and I feel like I’ve found a real home here and am playing the best football of my career under the gaffer.

"We’ve got a great group here who are all really together and we’re very clear with what we want to achieve this season. We believe we’re building something and I’m really happy to be part of it."

Manager Nathan Jones commented: "I’m really pleased Lloyd has signed a new contract with us and committed his future to the football club. He’s an excellent centre-half who has found a home here and has been outstanding this season. He’s become a real leader and has taken on the additional responsibility of being vice-captain really well, so I’m looking forward to seeing what he can achieve at this football club."

Technical Director Andy Scott added: "We’re delighted Lloyd has committed his future to what we are building here at Charlton. During his time at the club he’s shown what an excellent player he is at this level and we believe he has the ability and attitude to perform in the Championship too.

"The club has some outstanding young players but for them to develop and learn they need to be surrounded by experienced leaders who set high standards daily, and Lloyd certainly fits that category. He has been a vital part of a defence that has already kept 11 league clean sheets this season and has also demonstrated that he can help lead the team on and off the pitch, excelling in the new role of vice-captain."
