Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce that midfielder Lois Roche has signed a one-year contract with the Addicks, keeping her with the club until January 2024.
The 29-year-old joined the Addicks in the summer of 2021 from Italian side CF Florentina women and was part of the first-ever fully professional Charlton Athletic Women's team.
Head Coach Karen Hills expressed her delight at Roche's contract extension: "I am delighted that Lois has signed a one-year contract extension with Charlton. Lois has always been a hard worker who is well respected amongst her teammates.
"We know that she has had to spend a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to her ACL injury and we are all proud of how hard she has worked during her rehab process. I am sure all the fans will be very excited to see her back out in Charlton colours again soon."
The midfielder suffered an ACL injury in a league fixture against London City Lionesses in April 2022. Despite the injury, Lois has been working hard on the sidelines for her return and spoke to CharltonTV following her contract extension.
She said: "I am really happy and grateful to be signing a new deal with the club, obviously coming off the back of a long-term injury I am just really looking forward to getting back on the pitch with the girls and having a strong end to the season.
"There are a few of us at the club who have done their ACL... I kind of see it as a positive as well it was a good challenge. I feel like it has gone relatively quite smoothly and I feel better, stronger and fitter from it so I am just raring to go now."
The contract extension of Lois Roche is subject to FA approval.
