MATCH PREVIEW | Charlton v Bolton Wanderers

Preview Bolton

Having claimed six points from six to start the season, the Addicks are looking to continue their good form on Saturday when they welcome Bolton Wanderers to The Valley (KO 3pm BST).

Nathan Jones told CharltonTV on Thursday that the Trotters are a well-coached side, and the Addicks will have to be “the best version of ourselves” to come out on top.

TEAM NEWS

The Addicks will be without Josh Edwards following the injury he sustained against Leyton Orient last weekend, but Nathan Jones was happy to report that it is not as serious as first thought.

The visitors will be without Carlos Mendes Gomes, Gethin Jones and Randell Williams. Luke Southwood, Chris Forino, Jordi Osei-Tutu, Jay Matete, Aaron Morley and Kyle Dempsey all played for Bolton’s B Team this week as they returned from injury.

THE OPPOSITION

Bolton will likely provide one of the toughest tests of the season, having narrowly missed out on automatic promotion last season.

They won away Leyton Orient on opening day, before drawing 0-0 with Wrexham at home.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Addicks have won 29, lost 47 and drawn the remaining 21 games against the Trotters.

Their most recent encounter was a topsy-turvy affair in Greater Manchester in February, in which the Addicks claimed a 3-3 draw in Nathan Jones’ third game in charge.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Lee Swabey will be the man in the middle on Saturday. He will be supported by Assistant Referees David Harrison and Adrian Tranter, as well as Fourth Official Wayne Cartmel.
