The Addicks return to The Valley on Tuesday night to host Leyton Orient in the Vertu Trophy round of 32 (KO 7pm GMT).

Nathan Jones' side, who earned wins against Cambridge United, Chelsea U21s and Bromley in the group stages, go into the cup clash on the back of a goalless draw at Lincoln City last weekend.

TEAM NEWS

Lloyd Jones made his first start in two months on Saturday following a leg injury, while Conor Coventry missed out through muscle tightness.

The visitors will be without Sean Clare (groin), Theo Archibald (knee) and Jordan Graham (knee).

THE OPPOSITION

Richie Wellens’ O’s sit 16th in the third-tier table having picked up six wins, three draws and nine losses from 18 outings so far this season.

Leyton Orient head into the bout having picked up two back-to-back wins in the league, keeping clean sheets in both of them. More recently, they tasted triumph on the road as they claimed a 2-0 win against Wigan Athletic.

Charlton and Leyton Orient have gone toe-to-toe on 55 previous occasions, with the Addicks winning 24, the O’s 20 and the remaining 11 meetings resulting in draws.

Luke Berry netted the all-important winner at The Valley back in August when Charlton claimed a 1-0 victory in Sky Bet League One.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Stephen Parkinson will oversee Tuesday’s proceedings.

Parkinson will be assisted by Joseph Stokes and Marcus Carmichael, while David Harrison has been appointed as the Fourth Official.
