CHARLTON V MK DONS
Karen Hills’ Addicks have the opportunity to stretch their win streak to five as they host MK Dons in the third round of the Vitality Women's FA Cup this Sunday at The Oakwood KO 12 PM.
Charlton picked up their fourth consecutive win earlier in December with a 1-0 victory over Sheffield United in the Barclays Women’s Championship. The Addicks took the lead with ten minutes to play, a lofted corner into the box from Beth Roe resulted in a goalmouth scramble as the Blades were unable to clear midfielder Lauren Bruton poked home from close range to net her first goal of the 2022/23 campaign.
The Addicks reached the fifth round of the competition last year bowing out 2-0 to WSL side Everton.
Sunday’s opposition will travel to The Oakwood off the back of a 2-0 triumph over Exeter City in the FA Women’s National League Cup. Mollie Coupar put the Dons ahead within 23 minutes before Angelina Nixon doubled their lead in the 100th minute.
Charlie Bill’s side secured their spot in the third round with a victory over Worthing at the end of November. Two goals in additional time from Pepper and Miceli saw the Buckinghamshire side come back from behind and claim their space in the hat for the next stage in spectacular fashion.
MK Dons currently sit in 9th place in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division, picking up three wins and a draw in eight outings so far this season.
