Since being condemned to a 7-0 defeat at Barnsley on the opening day, Port Vale have earned a 1-0 victory over Reading and claimed a goalless draw at Blackpool to leave them sat 13th in the Sky Bet League One table.

The Valiants finished 18th in the third tier last season, four points above the relegation zone.

The last meeting between the two sides came at The Valley in May, when goals from Tyreece Campbell, Jes Rak-Sakyi and Leaburn earned Dean Holden's men a 3-2 triumph.
