Charlton return to The Valley for the first time in three-and-a-half months on Saturday afternoon to face Portsmouth in their final game of pre-season (KO 3pm BST).

The match will see Nathan Jones’ side take to the stadium’s brand-new hybrid-stitched Desso pitch for the very first time, and comes a week before the Addicks’ Sky Bet League One opener at Wigan Athletic.

TEAM NEWS

Rarmani Edmonds-Green and Gassan Ahadme both returned from minor muscle issues in last week’s game at AFC Wimbledon, while Miles Leaburn is continuing his recovery from the hamstring injury he sustained last term.

THE OPPOSITION

Portsmouth won Sky Bet League One in impressive fashion last season, racking up 97 points. John Mousinho's side have made six additions to their squad so far over the summer - including both Josh Murphy and Jordan Williams.

They are unbeaten in pre-season so far, and will take on Leeds United in their first game back in the Sky Bet Championship next Saturday.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The Addicks have beaten Pompey 40 times in the 116 meetings between the sides, including seven in the last 11. Portsmouth have won 46 times, with 30 of the meetings ending in a draw.

The sides shared a goalless draw at The Valley back in February.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Farai Hallam will be the referee on Saturday and will be assisted by Stuart Butler and Paul Kelly, while Alfie Finch-Critchley has been appointed as the Fourth Official.

COLOURS

The Addicks will be wearing their new 2024/25 home kit this weekend.

Bartram's will be opening its doors to supporters from 12.30pm, but will not be open after the game. The Meantime Fans' Bar will not be open this weekend.
