The Addicks are playing their final pre-season game against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon (KO 2pm) as they return to The Valley.

Team News
The side have been very active in the summer transfer window securing new signings including Jodie Hutton, Charlotte Newsham, Katie Bradley and Gloria Siber. Two of last year’s loanees Mel Filis and Gracie Pearse also committed permanently to Charlton this summer with Princess Ademiluyi joining on loan from West Ham as well. Aston Villa has also done a lot of business over the summer signing former Charlton loanee Katie Robinson, Chasity Grant, Paula Tomás, Missy Bo Kearns, Sabrina D’Angelo and the loan signing of Jill Baijings.
The Opposition
This summer has seen a very big change at the club, with Robert de Pauw joining as the new
manager from Bayer Leverkusen. In the 2023/24 season the Birmingham club finished seventh in
the WSL. The season before Villa finished in fifth position with the WSL bolden boot winner Rachel
Daly scoring 22 goals throughout the season.
Head-to-Head
The last time these two teams faced each other was in the Barclays Championship in 2019 when
Aston Villa beat the Addicks 4-0. The opposition then went on to win the league and be promoted to the WSL at the end of the season.
