Charlton Athletic
Charlton Athletic faced some setbacks in October but displayed true spirit with two last-minute equalisers in their last three games. Before the international break, the team travelled to the north of England for their first-ever match against Newcastle. Despite going down two goals in the first 15 minutes, they fought back to secure a 3-3 draw. Prior to that, the Addicks recorded their first loss of the season against London City Lionesses. Currently, Charlton stand in second place in the league.
The Opposition
Southampton sit in 7th place in the Championship. Before the international break, they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Birmingham City. However, they recorded an impressive 5-0 win over their south coast rivals in the match prior. Southampton have three wins, two losses, and one draw so far this season.
Head-to-Head
Since Southampton entered the Barclays Women’s Championship, Charlton has won all four encounters between the two sides. Southampton has yet to score a goal against Charlton in these matchups.
