MATCH PREVIEW

Charlton

Last season, Charlton found themselves in a group alongside West Ham, Brighton, and Birmingham City. In their opening match against West Ham, the Addicks took an early lead through Humphrey, but the game ultimately ended in a 2-1 defeat to the Hammers. Charlton bounced back in their second fixture, securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Birmingham City to claim all three points. However, their final group match against Brighton ended in another 2-1 loss, with Kayleigh Barton netting a consolation goal against her former club.

The Opposition

Last year, Tottenham Hotspur reached the Quarter Finals of the Women's League Cup, where they faced Manchester City but suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at home.

In the group stage, Spurs had an impressive run, starting with a 6-0 victory over Reading, followed by two 3-0 wins against Southampton and Bristol City. Their match against Arsenal ended in a draw and was decided by penalties, with Arsenal coming out on top. However, both teams advanced to the Quarter Finals.

Head-to-head

Charlton faced Tottenham last season in the fifth round of the Women's FA Cup, where Spurs claimed a narrow 1-0 victory at Brisbane Road, ending Charlton's FA Cup run. Tottenham, meanwhile, went on to reach the final.

Prior to this, the two teams had met seven times, with Spurs winning the last four encounters consecutively. Charlton hasn't recorded a win against Tottenham since 2015, but out of the eight games played, the Addicks have won three.
