The Addicks take the mammoth trip up north this Sunday, taking on Durham at Maiden Castle in the Barclays Women’s Championship (KO 12pm GMT).
Here’s everything you need to know ahead of this weekend’s clash.
Charlton
Following a month-long break from league action, Charlton played host to Reading last Sunday in their final run out at The Oakwood this season. A defiant strike from Charlie Wellings before the break saw the Royals subject the Addicks to only their second league defeat of the season, with the long-distance strike ending Charlton’s impressive 12-match unbeaten run across the second tier.
The 1-0 defeat leaves Karen Hills’ side in the fourth spot ahead of their visit to Durham, although the Addicks hold a game in hand following the postponement of their clash with Watford earlier this month.
Durham
The Wildcats sit eighth in the league rankings prior to this weekend’s meeting, having recorded five wins, five draws and seven losses this season.
Claire Ditchburn’s side settled for a point on the road against Blackburn Rovers in their previous bout. An own goal from Rovers’ defender Hannah Silcock put the Wildcats ahead with half-an-hour remaining, before Lucy Shephard drew the hosts level.
Head-to-head
In the reverse back in October, the spoils were shared after a stoppage-time penalty from Kayleigh Barton rescued a point for the Addicks on the cusp of full-time.
Last season’s visit to Maiden Castle saw Charlton run out a 2-1 victory as Emily Simpkins netted from the spot, before Melissa Johnson sealed the triumph just minutes before the interval.
