The Addicks are yet to discover the severity of the injury suffered by Chuks Aneke (hamstring) during Saturday’s clash against Sheffield Wednesday.
Mandela Egbo (quad) and Todd Kane (hamstring) are unavailable for Tuesday's trip.
Posh will be without long-term absentee Kell Watts (hamstring), while Ricky-Jade Jones (ankle) will be assessed having missed the last three matches.
Peterborough currently sit ninth in Sky Bet League One, seven points adrift of the coveted play-off places, albeit with a game in hand on sixth-placed Derby County.
Darren Ferguson's side come into the contest buoyed by a 5-2 success against second-placed Plymouth Argyle last time out.
Jonson Clarke-Harris's 18 goals make him the division's leading scorer and only Ipswich Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Plymouth have netted more than Posh this term.
Charlton and Peterborough have clashed on 26 previous occasions with the Addicks winning nine, Posh 10 and the remaining seven encounters resulting in draws.
The last meeting between the two sides came in the reverse fixture at The Valley on Boxing Day, when Jonson Clarke-Harris cancelled out Miles Leaburn’s opener to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.
Andrew Kitchen will be the man in the middle on Tuesday, taking charge of his first fixture involving Charlton.
Kitchen will be assisted by Michael George and Stephen Finch, while Ryan Whitaker is the Fourth Official.
The Addicks will be donning their home kit in Peterborough.
Tickets are no longer on sale from The Valley's Ticket Office.
Remaining tickets can be purchased from Peterborough United's Ticket Office on matchday, subject to a £2 price increase.
