Alfie May (back) is still being monitored ahead of this weekend's trip and a late call will also be made on Chem Campbell (ankle), who picked up a knock during Monday's match.
Harry Isted (knee), Conor McGrandles (calf), Terry Taylor (ankle), Panutche CamarĂ¡ (hamstring), Chuks Aneke (hamstring) and Miles Leaburn (hamstring) remain sidelined.
Meanwhile, the hosts are expected to be without Dan Jones, Mitch Clark, Tom Sang, Funso Ojo and Josh Thomas.
Port Vale currently sit 15th in the Sky Bet League One table, beneath the Addicks on goal difference.
Andy Crosby's side suffered a 2-1 defeat at Carlisle United in their opening game of 2024 on Monday.
The Valiants claimed a 3-0 triumph over Blackpool in their last home fixture thanks to goals from Ben Garrity, James Wilson and Nathan Smith.
Charlton and Port Vale have locked horns on 35 previous occasions with the Addicks winning 15, the Valiants 10 and the remaining 10 meetings resulting in draws.
Port Vale won the reverse fixture at The Valley 3-2 back in August 2023.
Martin Coy will oversee proceedings this weekend. The official has refereed 15 games so far this season and has shown 68 yellow cards and three red cards.
Coy will be assisted by Danny Gratton and Ravel Cheosiaua, while Jacob Lehane is the Fourth Official.
The Addicks will be sporting their black away kit in Staffordshire.
