The Addicks are back on the road for the second time this week on Saturday, travelling to the AESSEAL New York Stadium to face Rotherham United (KO 3pm GMT).
Nathan Jones’ side will look to bounce back from a narrow defeat against Sky Bet Championship side Preston North End in the Emirates FA Cup third round in midweek.
TEAM NEWS
Asked for an update on the fitness of his squad in his pre-match press conference, Jones said: "We’re in a better place in terms of getting people back. We’ve said that we're looking to streamline the squad, but make sure that we have the quality, the numbers, the fitness levels and the recovery to handle this period."
THE OPPOSITION
Rotherham currently sit 13th in the Sky Bet League One standings, three points behind the Addicks having played one more fixture.
Steve Evans' side are unbeaten in their last five and claimed a penalty shootout victory at Chesterfield Town in the Vertu Trophy in midweek. That was preceded by a 3-1 win at home to Bolton Wanderers last weekend courtesy of goals from Mallik Wilks, Reece James and Sam Nombe.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Charlton and Rotherham have gone toe-to-toe on 39 previous occasions, with the Addicks claiming 14 wins, the Millers 14 and the remaining 11 meetings resulting in draws.
In the reverse fixture, Chuks Aneke’s sublime second-half strike earned the Addicks a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
MATCH OFFICIALS
Darren Drysdale will be the man in the middle this weekend.
Drysdale will be assisted by Darren Wilding and Christopher Husband, with Garreth Rhodes filling the Fourth Official spot.
COLOURS
The Addicks will be wearing their yellow away kit in south Yorkshire.
