The Addicks kick off their Emirates FA Cup campaign on Saturday with a trip to Roots Hall to face Southend United (KO 3pm GMT).

Nathan Jones’ side go into the first-round tie having progressed to the round of 32 in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, picking up a 3-0 win against Chelsea's U21s on Tuesday evening.

TEAM NEWS

Gassan Ahadme (chest) returned to training prior to last weekend’s draw against Wrexham, while the club are awaiting news on Tennai Watson’s hamstring scan.

Kayne Ramsay (knee), Lloyd Jones (leg) and Daniel Kanu (ankle) remain sidelined. 

THE OPPOSITION

The Shrimpers currently sit 14th in the National League table, four points adrift of the play-off places.

Kevin Maher's team, who are unbeaten in their last four outings, claimed a 2-0 triumph against Tamworth last weekend.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The two sides have locked horns on 48 previous occasions, with the Addicks winning 27, the Shrimpers 10 and the remaining 11 meetings resulting in draws.

The spoils were shared at The Valley in a a 1-1 draw when the sides last met back in February 2019.

MATCH OFFICIALS

Darren Drysdale will oversee proceedings this weekend.

Drysdale will be assisted by Anthony Da Costa and Michael Chard, while Jack Willmore has been appointed as the Fourth Official.

COLOURS

The Addicks will be sporting their yellow away kit in Essex.

There are a limited number of tickets available for purchase on matchday at Roots Hall.

No pubs local to Roots Hall will be permitting away supporters, but food and drink will be available at either end of the Solopress North Bank. There will be two bars selling alcohol to away supporters, again one each located at either end of the away end.

Fans will only be allowed in through Fairfax Drive, with a ground map available to view below.
