A convincing win for the Addicks as they claim a 3-0 victory over the Blades in very adverse weather conditions.
The cold temperatures and heavy rain didn’t dampen the Addicks’ efforts as they dominated the majority of the 90 minutes.
It took just 19 minutes for the Addicks to find their first goal, courtesy of ex-Sheffield United player Charlotte Newsham. Bissell, making her debut in today’s game, dribbled the ball into the box and effortlessly manoeuvred her way around a couple of Sheffield defenders. Her shot was stopped but deflected into the path of Newsham, who slid in to bury the ball in the back of the net.
From there, the Addicks looked very comfortable on the ball and kept the Blades at bay throughout the first half.
Charlton came out firing in the second half, and it took just a minute for Brazil to capitalise on a ball deflecting off the crossbar, firmly putting it into the goal. This marked her first goal in 2025!
The third goal came in the 63rd minute, following a free kick awarded to the Addicks. Taken by Hutton, the ball found the head of Sheffield United player Hobson and ended up in her own net.
Although the Addicks looked like they could have scored a few more times, the scoreline remained 3-0.
