The Addicks recorded their first defeat of the season, and their first away loss in 539 days, in a tough derby against London City Lionesses today.
It was a challenging day for Charlton as they lost 2-0 away from home, with goals from Goodwin and Jakobsson securing victory for the Lionesses.
The first half was a battle between the two London sides. Despite Charlton showcasing their strengths at Hayes Lane, neither team managed to find the back of the net before the break.
Charlton started the second half strongly but were punished in the 54th minute when Isobel Goodwin opened the scoring with a header.
Despite continued efforts to find an equaliser, the game slipped further out of reach for the Addicks as Jakobsson capitalized on a one-on-one with Whitehouse to double London City’s lead.
Charlton fought until the final whistle but couldn't turn the tide in the South East London derby, with the match ending 2-0 in favor of the Lionesses.
