Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of Mel Filis from West Ham United on a two-year deal.
The midfielder had an impressive loan period at the club with 10 appearances and three goals after joining in December.
When sharing her reasons to come back, Filis expressed: "The league is very competitive, playing in the games on the back end of last season was really nice to be playing to win something and fighting for promotion.
We came so close, part of me does think we will 100% get it over the line this season and I'm really motivated to help the team to do that."
The 21-year-old also shared her excitement to be in front of the fans again: "The Charlton fans are very passionate, they relentlessly support the team regardless whether we are playing in Durham. The fanbase here is really good and I appreciate that they welcomed me in and I hope we can continue to grow that relationship."
Filis began her career by progressing through the Arsenal academy and then signing her professional contract with WSL side West Ham in the summer of 2021.
Welcome Back, Mel!
