Albie Morgan is hungry to start adding more goal involvements to his game after finding the back of the net in Tuesday's 4-2 triumph at Colchester United.
The 22-year-old joined Alex Gilbey and fellow academy graduate Miles Leaburn on the scoresheet at the JobServe Community Stadium as the Addicks came from behind to earn victory.
"It was a good night all round," Morgan told CharltonTV post-match. "They were two sloppy goals that we conceded, but to come back and win and obviously get four goals while we were on the pitch was good.
"More importantly, it was the minutes that everyone managed to get through - the 75 minutes was good building up from last week. Overall, a lot of positives to take and we're very pleased."
Charlton's fourth goal of the night was a product of the Addicks' esteemed academy as Leaburn slotted through Morgan, who rifled home with aplomb.
"It was a great ball from Miles," he said. "For me, it was just a hit and hope! Miles bringing me into the play with a nice little ball was obviously good and I'm grateful to him for the assist. Another goal for the big man so I bet he's buzzing as well."
The midfielder is now keen to build on his numbers going ahead of the forthcoming 2022/23 campaign.
"I got one goal last season," added Morgan. "I know and everyone knows that I've got to add the goals.
"It's good having good games and playing well, but you want to be adding to your stats with goals and assists. You want to be getting your numbers up so, of course, that is something I've been trying to work on ever since I've been a professional player. I need to start putting that into games and it's a good start."
