Academy graduate Nathan Asiimwe has been called into the Uganda senior squad for the first time ahead of their friendlies against Comoros and Ghana.
"It's a proud moment for me and my family," Asiimwe said. "It was unexpected as well - I just found out at the start of this week! I'm looking forward to experiencing the changing environment as I've been at Charlton my whole life and I haven't really experienced anything like this before, so hopefully it goes well.
"I'm looking forward to training and helping the team in the matches as well. We've got good fixtures coming up so I'm just going to try and do my best like I always do."
The 19-year-old defender, who joined the Addicks as an U9, has made 23 first-team appearances so far this season and penned a new long-term contract with the club in December 2023.
Karoy Anderson, another academy product, and Michael Hector have been named in the Jamaica squad for their CONCACAF Nations League semi-final against USA.
Manchester City loanee Lewis Fiorini has been called up to Scotland's U21s squad. Scot Gemmill's men host Kazakhstan in a UEFA European U21 Championship qualifier.
