Ben Garner’s side will be seeking a return to winning ways as they target a place in the competition's last 16.

Scott Marshall reported no new injury concerns in Monday’s press conference, though Joe Wollacott (finger), Craig MacGillivray (concussion), Mandela Egbo (quad), Eoghan O’Connell (knee), Terell Thomas (hamstring), Conor McGrandles (ankle), Diallang Jaiyesimi (ankle) and Miles Leaburn (ankle) all remain sidelined.
Meanwhile, the hosts will be without James Bolton (foot), James Wilson (ankle), Dan Scarr (thigh), Conor Grant (thigh), Danny Mayor (calf) and Finn Azaz (ankle) for Tuesday’s tie.
Argyle are flying high in Sky Bet League One this term and currently top the table, sitting two points above second-placed Ipswich Town.
The Pilgrims were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw at Burton Albion last time out with Brewers defender Adrian Mariappa heading home a 97th-minute equaliser.
Steven Schumacher's side finished top of Southern Group E to progress through to the Papa John's Trophy knockout stages, triumphing over Bristol Rovers on penalties before claiming wins against Swindon Town and Crystal Palace's U21s in normal time.
Charlton and Plymouth have gone toe-to-toe on 75 previous occasions with the Addicks winning 32, the Pilgrims 28 and the remaining 15 clashes concluding in draws.
The last meeting between the two sides came at The Valley in August 2022, when Garner’s men claimed an emphatic 5-1 triumph.
Robert Lewis will be the man in the middle on Tuesday. The official last refereed a Charlton fixture in October – the goalless draw at Lincoln City.
Lewis will be assisted by Jack Clench and Daniel Flynn, while James Durkin is the Fourth Official.
The Addicks will be sporting their white away kit in Devon.
